@ClairolColor A Blonde Effect

For some time I was telling my family and friends that was going to hold off for at least a year with dying my hair.  If you are wondering if I gave in...Yes, I gave into dying my hair again. The best thing to do was to start off with highlights, and that's what I did. This time my decision was to not go to a professional, but to let my eldest sister Smiley complete the color effect.  We got the hair color idea from her good friend, James Corbett (@colormejames), an awesome celebrity stylist as well as the Color Director for Clairol Color.

This was the very first time I dyed my hair since August 9th. Unfortunately, my hair did not take the color as expected, but it was a cute ombre effect.  The dye was left in for roughly 90 minutes.  Be sure if you try this at home to keep checking on your hair.  Also, cover your hair with a plastic cap during waiting period.

My Second Attempt of the Blonde Effect

I waited until the end of August or the beginning of September to repeat the process.

Final result

We added more highlights and dyed a section in the back fully blonde. The results came out GREAT! This time I made sure to do a protein deep conditioning afterwards.

After dying the second time, I told myself I'll give my hair a break. I will make sure to do deep conditioning to my hair more often to prevent damage or breakage.  Between November and December, I decided to revive my color. My hair was growing fast and the color was looking dull. Bringing shine and reviving your color is a MUST.
